Pain in the neck

This is a blatant cheat. I am posting today to let the Loyal 3.6 know that there will be no post today. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but I’m trying to keep the string of daily updates going.

In a little over two hours, I am to report to the local hospital for the long-awaited MRI on my busted neck. We shall see if any genuine treatment is indicated, as opposed to taking ibuprofen and toughing it out.

Possible upcoming posts, if I continue to be able to work regularly:

  • Another lafferty, this one about the psychological fallout from finding the elusive left quark.
  • ‘Goodbye, Radar’, #11 in the M*A*S*H essay series.
  • ‘The Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council’, in which H. Smiggy McStudge explains how to destroy science fiction.
  • ‘Quality vs. Quality’: a teaser for a new essai to be included in Style is the Rocket.

Once I work up to that point, expect the new collection to be released at any moment.

Suggestions? Requests? Bouquets or brickbats?

Comments

  1. May God guide the MRI technicians and give the good Doctors the clear-headed discernment needed for a good diagnosis. I eagerly await the forementioned postings, especially regarding Radar, my favorite M*A*S*H character.

  2. At least you’re writing SOMETHING.

I’m in final edits, and I haven’t written a decent post in weeks – I just can’t make myself do it, though I have about six posts started.

I feel like a fraud: how can I write about writing when I can’t quite get Pride’s Children UP ON AMAZON – I wrote To Be Continued on Palm Sunday.

It’s slow when you’re sick – so I sympathize. And I miss my Daddy, and Mother is still with us but she might as well not be, as she’s in Mexico City and is non-verbal and can’t see me – and I’m in NJ and have a huge amount of trouble traveling.

So I can commiserate: just get up the next day and try again.

My mentor assures me I’m getting there – so I am very grateful to have her – but I’d rather BE there, so I can start with the angst for Book 2.

    Hang in there.

    Sending prayers.

    Alicia

I think there ought to be a patch or a shirt or something that one could wear that proclaims the wearer as a member of the Loyal 3.6. A secret handshake, at the very least.
